Week 43

Not many workmen appeared this week.  The joiner is still waiting for his new order of oak window sills to arrive and whilst we had hoped to see the stairs going in Thursday/Friday, they obviously aren't ready either!

The oil tank finally arrived and the base was built for it on Thursday, so hopefully the plumbers will be back next week to finish off.

All steps bar the top one at the sun room are now finished and the lovely brick pillar at the front of the house would also have been finished except that they ran out of bricks half way up!

We did manage to get quite a lot of other things achieved however.  The security alarm is now in and almost working correctly - just need to fix one sensor!  All nine security cameras have also been installed and we have great pictures coming through on the monitor in the study.  Many thanks to Ian for climbing in and out of rafters in the attic to find the wires and then up and down ladders outside to fix the cameras.

All floor and wall tiles were delivered on Friday - thanks again to both Ians for all their help unloading them from the lorry and carrying them into the house.  Hope your backs have now recovered!

Painting is almost finished.  All rooms have been fully completed except for one lap around the ceiling edge in a couple of them.  That will just leave us a couple of cupboards.....hooray!
